Role overview:
Zonful Energy is seeking a strong leader with significant experience in managing teams, operations excellence, financial management and working with institutional investors. You will operate with autonomy, working to build up and drive business development and relationships with investors. Success in the role will be evidenced by achieving strategic revenue growth and fundraising for the business expansion. The position will be based in Harare, Zimbabwe, and start date is as soon as possible.

Key areas of responsibility:

  • Being part of the management team with direct reporting to the CEO
  • Responsible for fundraising strategy, developing new sources of funding and securing funding through proposals and other key activities to ensure financial stability of the organization
  • Overseeing human resources activities such as recruiting, policies, procedures and practices and effective organizational management including contracts and benefits
  • Management of the finance, accounting and financial control and compliance functions, according to local regulations
  • Responsible for treasury, cash management, exchange rates, management of the financial risks and proposal of measures of its protection and working capital management
  • Lead, oversee and present economic and financial feasibility studies of investment projects and capital investments
  • Lead financial team in preparation of comprehensive annual budgets for Board approval
  • Establish and implement all appropriate financial procedures and controls and oversee payroll, accounts payable and receivable as well as overall working capital management
  • Oversee and contribute to the business development strategy of the company
  • Develop KPIs for key personal and lead organization’s staff to optimal performance
  • Continuously monitor the situation and economic climate in Zimbabwe and provide relevant updates to the CEO and Board of Directors
  • Present at all board meetings and contribute to overall efficiency of corporate governance

Professional skills required:

  • At least 10 years of proven track record in an executive role
  • Recognized degree in field of finance is an advantage (ACCA, CPA, CFA etc.)
  • Understanding of the fundraising processes for growth companies
  • Experience of working with institutional investors and commercial banks
  • Understanding of solar home systems market in Africa is an advantage
  • Ability to effectively lead and coach staff to foster a team oriented environment; willingness to provide hands on input is a must
  • Well-developed oral and written communication skills and an open personal style
  • Team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Priority will be given to Zimbabwean nationals
