Oolu Solar is a growing solar energy provider in West Africa working in Senegal, Mali, Burkina Faso,
Niger and Nigeria and expanding to other countries. We are looking for a passionate, motivated and
dynamic professional to support portfolio strategy development and help Oolu Solar reach its full
potential!

The portfolio analyst is responsible for maximizing and monitoring portfolio performance. The portfolio
analyst will strive to understand our unique customer base and value proposition, using this
understanding to formulate and implement portfolio improvement and growth initiatives.

Candidate Profile

  • Motivated self-starter with ability to work well in an unstructured environment
  •  Intellectually curious and detail-oriented
  • Naturally seeks to develop and translate analytical insight into actionable strategies for solving
    real-world problems
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills with the ability to communicate thoughts clearly to a
    group
  • Experience with database querying and visualization tools (Power BI, SQL preferred)
  • Interest in rural communities, social enterprise or development

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive consumer financing strategy through data-driven insights
  • Design, iterate and evaluate the results of surveys and pilots to increase knowledge and
    understanding of customer base
  • Own and improve portfolio performance dashboards and KPI’s
  • Investigate portfolio characteristics and customer behaviour using our database and results from
    pilots, tests and surveys.
  • Identify local context which might impact customer repayment
  • Identify areas for operational improvements
  • Develop a predictive model for customer and portfolio performance
  • Develop and drive improvements to pricing and consumer financing strategy
  • Work cross-function to drive the execution, monitoring and evaluation of improvement initiatives

Skills

  • Relevant degree or more than 2 years experience in a similar role
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Background in statistics/economics/analytics
  • Experience using Database Management, Data Visualization or Statistical Analysis tools
  • Proficiency in French and English
