    Dirk Muench is a Co-Founder and Partner at Persistent as well as interim CEO at Catalyst. Dirk has worked for more than 15 years in global capital markets and has more than 8 years of impact investing and entrepreneurial experience in Africa. Prior to Persistent, Dirk worked with Chris on the restructuring of E+Co and led the analysis, exits and liquidation of more than 45 investments in Africa alone as Chief Investment Officer. Prior to E+Co and Persistent, Dirk worked for 7 years for JP Morgan in London and New York as a research analyst and emerging markets trader. Dirk holds a Master’s Degree in Engineering from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH Zurich).

    Chris Aidun is a co-founder and Partner at Persistent. Chris has over 30 years of experience in venture capital, private equity and finance law. Prior to founding Persistent Energy, he was Managing Director of E+Co, a non-profit clean energy impact investor where he led a financial restructuring that returned significantly more than expected to E+Co creditors. Prior to E+Co, Chris was a senior private equity partner at the international law firm of Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP. Chris manages corporate structure, legal and tax matters for Persistent and its partner companies. Chris is a US trained lawyer with a JD from New York University School of Law and a BS in Economics from the University at Albany.

    Rodrigo Weiss is a Partner at Persistent. He studied mechanical engineering at ETH Zurich. After starting his career at a nanotech startup, Weiss has since focused on renewable energy as an investor. He has worked in Latin America and throughout Europe. Most recently he managed the renewable energy investment practice for SUSI Partners in Switzerland. He joined Persistent after a short stint at responsAbility, where he headed direct debt investments in the renewables space.

    Olu Verheijen is a Partner at Persistent. She has over 16 years of commercial strategy, M&A advisory and general management experience, primarily in the Nigerian energy sector. Prior to Persistent, she was a Deal Lead at Shell where she led various gas to power and divestment transactions. Prior to joining Shell, she worked for Moody’s Investors Service in New York, evaluating risk of US public sector bonds. Olu has a Master’s in Public Policy from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government and a BA in Political Science from Long Island University.

Before joining Persistent, he was a Vice President at SUSI Partners, a Swiss investment manager specialized in financing sustainable infrastructure.

Prior to joining Citigroup, she co-founded and operated businesses in the food service and agribusiness sectors in West Africa. She holds an MBA from Columbia Business School and a BS in Foreign Service from Georgetown University.
