We are very excited to welcome three members to the newly established Persistent Advisory Board, Jacqueline Musiitwa, Rolake Akinkugbe-Filani, and Sebolelo Majozi Gebhart, who bring exceptional expertise, insight, and cross-African networks.

The Advisory Board meets on a quarterly basis and its current members are all African accomplished professionals and leaders in their respective fields, providing valuable insights, local knowledge, experience on climate initiatives, and extensive networks.

A leading energy and infrastructure specialist, Rolake Akinkugbe-Filani has a 15+ years track record of helping to finance and scale businesses across Africa. Rolake believes that “The work Persistent is doing in building and investing in climate-focused ventures is extremely important. It’s so easy for early-stage entrepreneurs in this space to fly under the investment radar, and struggle through their early years, but having a platform that not only champions them but helps them build operational resilience is incredibly refreshing.”

Jacqueline Musiitwa is a senior executive with global experience in law, governance, and risk. She has a strong board portfolio within the financial services and renewable energy sectors. “I am excited to be aligned with a team committed to pushing boundaries and creating stronger climate-resilient businesses. Persistent’s work is so timely and important because building climate-smart commercially successful businesses are critical for Africa’s sustainable economic growth,” says Musiitwa.

Sebolelo Gebhardt is a South African investment lawyer, currently working as General Counsel at Jacobs Holding AG, a family-backed investment firm based in Zurich, and her role primarily entails executing M&A deals globally. “I am excited about being part of Persistent’s next chapter, along with Jacqueline and Rolake, there is much work ahead of us but hoping that this collaboration together with the Persistent team will bring about a bright future for the company, which continues to build up our continent one investment at a time.”

Persistent is excited to have such a dedicated and passionate female-led advisory board that is committed to furthering Persistent’s impact in Africa.
