Energy Entrepreneurs Growth Fund (EEGF)

Persistent is the Fund Advisor to the 120 million dollar Energy Entrepreneurs Growth Fund (EEGF), managed by Triple Jump. Established by Shell Foundation and FMO, the EEGF provides catalytic financing to early and growth-stage companies in Sub-Saharan Africa’s energy access ecosystem. Persistent contributes pipeline development, origination and due diligence support, and hands-on operational guidance to EEGF portfolio companies as they grow and prepare for scale.

Since launch, the EEGF has supported the expansion of clean energy access across the continent, reaching 35.2 million people with improved energy access, creating 4,351 direct jobs, and avoiding 11.1 million tons of CO₂ emissions over the lifetime of its investments in alignment with SDG 7 and SDG 13.

Fonds Mwinda

Fonds Mwinda is a decentralized energy facility launched under the Government of the Democratic Republic of Congo’s Access, Governance and Reforms Project (AGREE), funded by the World Bank through the Ministry of Energy’s Project Management Unit (UCM) and implemented with the National Rural Electrification Agency (ANSER). The facility supports the expansion of off-grid energy access in the DRC by providing results-based financing for solar home systems, mini-grids, and clean cooking solutions. The fund is structured as a 500 million dollar facility with an initial 65 million dollars provided through the AGREE project.GreenMax Capital manages the Fonds Mwinda and Persistent serves as an advisor to Fonds Mwinda and participates in its Steering Committee, providing input on pipeline development and technical support to help strengthen the operations of decentralized energy companies supported by the facility.

GET.invest Finance Readiness Support

GET.invest is a European programme that mobilises investment in renewable energy and is co-funded by the European Union, Germany, Norway, the Netherlands, Sweden, and Austria. It works to accelerate clean energy markets in Sub-Saharan Africa, the Caribbean, and the Pacific by supporting businesses and financiers along their investment journeys.

As part of the programme, the GET.invest Finance Readiness Support provides hands-on, in-depth business development support to locally owned and managed clean energy companies, helping them prepare for and access finance. The service focuses on early-stage, micro, small, and medium-sized energy enterprises seeking to raise capital and strengthen their business models.

Persistent is one of the implementing partners of Finance Readiness Support, providing tailored guidance to entrepreneurs on financial modelling, business planning, and investor preparation as they navigate the fundraising process.
